Renae Dower

Renae Dower (Production Director) has danced with City Modern Ensemble since 2010. Renae has performed in many shows and venues, including the Nick Cave Soundsuits and in collaboration with musical groups including the Blue Ridge New Music Collaborative and Steam Geek Traveler. Renae received her Bachelors in Studio Art from Roanoke College in 2014. Her artistic background led her to becoming the Production Director of CME. She creates posters, costumes, props and backdrops for City Modern Ensemble. She has created lighted costumes, costumes that magically changed on stage, huge moving boxes and large painted backdrops.

Renae is also a dancer and prop designer for Mental Health in Motion, Lisa Linger's company that provides Mental Health education, advocacy and awareness through dance stories.

She feels incredibly fortunate to dance with such a strong company of kind, creative and powerful women.
